Beth Frates
MD
Elizabeth (Beth) Pegg Frates MD is a pioneer in Lifestyle Medicine education and an award-winning teacher at Harvard Medical School, as well as at the Harvard Extension School.
Dr. Frates was voted in as the President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and will serve the 10,000 member organization in that capacity from 2022-2024. She continues to be active at Harvard Medical School as Associate Professor, Part-Time, advising the Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group and giving lectures on motivational interviewing, nutrition and lifestyle medicine. In addition, Dr. Frates teaches three college and masters level courses at the Harvard Extension School on lifestyle medicine: Wellbeing from the Inside Out: From Cell to Community, Introduction to Lifestyle Medicine, and Culinary Psychology. With her passion for teaching, she is a sought after speaker for CMEs at Harvard Medical School, locally, nationally and internationally.
Working one-on-one with clients is what Dr. Frates does best. She connects with people and meets them right where they are at that moment. After establishing a personal connection, Dr. Frates can identify what her clients need to make progress in adopting healthy lifestyles. She believes in the power of implementing realistic small changes to create big results.
