Dr. Frates completed her two-year term as President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine on October 30, 2024. During her term, the ACLM was voted into the AMA House of Delegates and the strategic partnership with ACLM and Blue Zones was created and finalized. Also during her term, Dr. Frates was involved with the process of ACLM creating its first lifestyle medicine guidelines for the treatment of diabetes. These Clinical Practice Guidelines will be available in January 2025. Presidential Threads on the Connect Platform and Member Mixers with President Beth Frates were put into place to increase member engagement and to help members stay in touch with ACLM leadership. New Member Interest Groups were started including the Culinary Medicine Interest Group and the Nature is Medicine sub-committee. In addition, Dr. Frates created a GLP 1 RA task force and a Family Medicine Task Force to help guide the organization with respect to these important areas. Together with Editor Taimur Sher, Dr. Frates Guest Edited an entire edition of the Mayo Clinic Proceedings: Innovations, Quality, and Outcomes on Lifestyle Medicine.
